One need not be wise to be the agent of wisdom.
Wisdom abounds in the words of the biggest fool. To perceive such encode insight,
one needs either to be wise, or merely to be the Universe’s intended receiver of the message.

MY Grandpa, a deputy sheriff for thirty-five years used to say two things about wisdom, or was it about fools, I could never be sure. One I think is an ancient text and I don't know where th other comes from as my Grandpa was never one for crediting his quotes.
The first is, “A wise man can learn more from a fool than a fool can learn from a wise man.”
The second was, “It don't matter whether its a jackass, or a genius who tells ya when your house is on fire; it only matters IF you got sense enough to get out.”
Actually, I thought of another while typing this. He also said, “More women have made good men out of assholes, I'm sure he meant to say fools here, than have made assholes out of good men.” I'm sorry to foul your spot here, C.G. and I am strongly debating not posting, but hey, I wrote it for this place.
All very good quotes, TextMage. Grandpa was rather wise, himself.
Thanks.
experiences + logic = wisdom
what a tough question !..
Welcome, Wiseman….
yes, but it seems to me that logic is not always the path to wisdom (ie the Zen koan)….sometimes it comes from the escape from the logic.
… mmm…. there's logic.. and there's logic…
intellectual 'logic'
awareness logic
I'm up for learning on this one….
I always associate logic with a mental process. Wisdom I associate with an intuitive process.
aah it's semantics, at the mental level…
I never realized that my name is “wiseman” ….huh
I think that logic has several dimensions depending on the personality. Hence, they can never be a specific model for being logical or wise. For example, it is commonly agreed that men and women think on different levels when interpreting reality. Thats why men have often mistaken women for being too emotional and illogical. Nonetheless, neither gender is detached from reality; however, they differ in approach.
Likewise, personlaities differ in approach to reality.
Ibrahim…I was going by you Zaadz profile that says:
Title: Wiseman
I know C.G., I just thought it was funny.
I was actually making fun of myself. I was not offended at all.
who doesnt want to be a wiseman ;-)
….Ibrahim, with the focus in introspection that you have in your comments, I'd say you are headed in the right direction.
…..I just pointed out the profile, to make sure I had not said something that offended.
peace and insight….
Hi CG, I associate wisdom with a fluidity of mind, being able to think laterally as well as directly, an openness and receptivity of spirit that can see new connections, and all aspects…
hello Zephyr….fluidity, lateral thinking, openness, receptivity…see new connections…..
Yes, that sounds very much like wisdom to me.
Thank you, Zephyr! That is an excellent definition, from my point of view….
